Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility Program

Conestoga-Rovers & Associates is committed to conducting its operations in a sustainable and socially responsible manner.  We are dedicated to seeking new opportunities to incorporate sustainable solutions into our workplaces and those of our clients.  Further, we believe the foundation of our company's ongoing success is supporting our employees, the communities in which we work, and the communities in which we live.  This belief is reflected in CRA's Sustainability and Social Responsibility Program as outlined below.

As a company, we are committed to:

  • Respecting and observing all laws governing our operations
  • Implementing and maintaining ethical business practices
  • Permanently reducing our environmental footprint
  • Supporting the well-being, safety, and health of our employees and their families
  • Providing support to improve the communities in which we live and work
  • Seeking opportunities to incorporate sustainability into our clients' projects and operations

Specific actions that we are taking as a company to meet these commitments include:

  • Implementing and maintaining a behavior-based safety culture and the CRA SMART Program
  • Providing employee access to comprehensive training programs in the areas of legislation, ethics, professional development, the environment, and health and safety
  • Establishing an employee wellness program to help employees live a better, healthier, and happier life; the program includes our Employee Assistance Program, Wellness Reimbursement Program, and a variety of health and wellness resources
  • Reducing the volume of waste we generate by limiting the use of consumable materials and implementing and expanding recycling programs
  • Reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by limiting unnecessary employee travel, finding ways to reduce our office electricity and fuel consumption, and properly maintaining our vehicles
  • Taking sustainability (e.g., proximity to mass transit, energy and water efficiency, and indoor air quality) into account when considering the purchase or lease of new office space, office equipment, and/or company vehicles
  • Implementing and maintaining an employee incentive program to reward employees who commit to a "greener" commute by walking, cycling, carpooling, or utilizing mass transit systems for travel to and from work
  • Measuring relevant sustainability performance indicators based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines, and informing stakeholders about our sustainability performance through the preparation of  an annual sustainability report
