Environmental Site Assessment/Due Diligence

CRA provides a complete range of environmental due diligence services.  These services include Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Environmental Compliance Audits, and preparation of environmental liability and compliance cost estimates.  To date, CRA has successfully completed more than 20,000 such projects for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients worldwide.  CRA is able to meet aggressive implementation and reporting requirements that are required for the sale or acquisition of property and/or stock.  CRA's plant/facility environmental experience ensures that environmental issues are properly identified and practically assessed relative to the type of transaction and specific client concerns.

Phase I

CRA provides pre-purchase or pre-financing Phase I Environmental Site Assessments conducted in strict accordance with ASTM Standard E 1527 and CSA Standard Z768-01.  Additional services available to complement the ASTM Standard include:

  • Identification of asbestos-containing materials
  • Lead-based paint surveys
  • Mold assessments
  • Wetland identification and delineation
  • Naturally occurring radioactive (NORM) surveys
  • Building condition assessments

 

Phase II

CRA is highly experienced at developing and implementing efficient intrusive investigation programs.  With experience in virtually all commercial and industrial sectors, CRA personnel are familiar with most current and historical environmental practices and processes.  Investigation programs include:

  • Soil, sediment, surface water, and sampling analysis
  • Waste characterization
  • Underground storage tank investigation
  • Wetlands assessment and/or delineation
  • Ecological site assessments (threatened species, habitat, etc.)
  • Regulatory agency research, liaison, and assistance

 

Phase III

  • Action planning
  • Preparation of asbestos and lead-based abatement plans
  • Remediation design, implementation, and closure
  • Site monitoring programs
  • Risk-based corrective action assessment
  • Construction/project management
