Environmental Information Management

Environmental Information Management

One of the most important capabilities developed by CRA during the past 25 years has been the effective management of environmental information.  Our solid reputation as an environmental consultant is based on our ability to maintain accurate databases of collected information.  As volumes of information grow over time, it is increasingly important to establish effective information management strategies for the future.  These strategies should accommodate the increasing importance of sharing information with large numbers of parties.

How can we help you?

Field Data Collection Coordination

A sound environmental information management strategy begins with the coordination of field data collection activities.  We can help standardize and streamline these activities and work with all of your data collectors to improve the quality of your databases.  Find out about e:Monitor™, our solution for automating field data collection using Palm OS and Windows CE handheld computers.

Laboratory Coordination and Data Validation

Building good environmental databases requires that laboratories providing services must also provide good quality Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs).  CRA has relationships with many reputable environmental laboratories and has considerable experience in coordinating directly with laboratories to deliver EDDs.  Working closely with our in-house team of environmental chemists, we ensure that data validation tasks are carried out as efficiently as possible, and that the resulting validated data is incorporated into your site's database.

Data Warehousing

CRA has adopted EQuIS™ (Environmental Quality Information System), developed by EarthSoft, Inc., as our standard environmental monitoring data warehouse.  We are recognized by many of our clients as having leading data management capabilities.  These skills are reflected in the cost-effectiveness of our service.

Data Access Solutions

CRA has developed several innovative tools providing easy-to-use access to environmental databases.  Find out more about e:DAT™, our easy-to-use map-based program that integrates site maps with monitoring database and other electronic documents. e:DAT Web™ provides similar data access capabilities on the Internet.

Reporting and Statistical Analyses

Having your data managed in a centralized warehouse will provide you with opportunities to carry out data reporting and statistical analyses tasks much more efficiently.  Our data management group is capable of meeting most state and federal data reporting requirements.  Our environmental statisticians are able to complete in-depth statistical analysis of your data using a combination of in-house and industry-leading statistical analysis programs.

Data Visualization

Communicating environmental data is often best carried out using three-dimensional visualization techniques.  Our skilled group is experienced in preparing dynamic three-dimensional visualizations air, surface, and subsurface environmental models.

Industrial Waste Management

We have developed the Waste Manager for tracking and reporting solid and hazardous waste information, shipments, and disposition.  Waste Manager maintains detailed data on individual facility wastes, shipments, transporters, shippers, disposers, and container storage.  Waste Manager's reporting capabilities are flexible and customizable depending on your facility's specific needs.
