Human Health Risk Assessment Services

CRA's staff is knowledgeable of applicable environmental laws and regulations, and provides consulting services in the following areas:

  • Baseline human health risk assessments under various environmental programs (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, Health Canada, CCME, Underground Storage Tank (UST) Programs, State voluntary remedial programs, State regulations/guidance, and Provincial regulations/guidance)
  • Geologic/hydrogeologic characterization
  • Indoor air quality evaluation and vapor intrusion assessment
  • Exposure and toxicity assessment
  • Chemical fate and transport evaluation and modeling
  • Development of Conceptual Site Models (CSMs)
  • Air dispersion modeling and ambient air quality analysis
  • Development of, and petitions for, alternative risk-based cleanup goals (e.g., Alternate Concentration Limits, Site-Specific Target Levels, Property-Specific Standards, Risk-Based Closure Analysis, etc.)
  • Natural and enhanced attenuation evaluation
  • Critical reviews of risk assessments
  • Integrated use of engineering and institutional controls in risk assessment
  • Quantitative microbial risk assessment
  • Use of RBCA and similar risk assessment packages
  • Health Canada Preliminary Quantitative Risk Assessment (PQRA) for classification and ranking of federal sites for funding applications under the Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP)
